restoring data to database was created by Steve Klund
Hello All!
The documentation for moving a site is really great! It worked flawlessly.
My question is this:
I inadvertently forgot to put the new site in "Maint mode" while testing functions. Found out people logged in and created appointments.
I'd like to confirm the process of moving the tables again to capture any changes.....
Just redo the steps for migration?
1: export all *.backup tables
2. import into new (existing now) database on new site)
3. restart mysql
4. check that last entries match
Sound right?
Thanks

A couple of things to clarify..
ABPro backup/export/import/restore will move data from one instance of ABPro to different one.
It will not merge appointments from one instance to another. The process will replace all data in the destination with date from the source.
"restart mysql" ??
MySQL is never stopped.
It is used to export the _backup tables, and to import them again in the destination.
You do not export/import 'tables'.
You export data from source ABPro tables to a text file, then import it from the text file back into the destination database tables.

Yes, sorry for my poorly crafted post.
So, I just follow the procedure of exporting the backup tables data, importing into new server, then run the "restore" function within ABpro
Again, sorry for the badly written post

Yes, that will bring your old data to the new ABPro.
